So I will admit at first I found this book a bit tedious and boring at parts. Then after taking a bit of a break from reading it and coming back I was flying through it. It was really good. It had a ton of moving parts in it that at the time didn’t seem too overly connected then towards the end everything slowly started to come together. It’s when I realized that all the moving parts had been for a reason and here was the big grand reveal. All in all I did love the book and I would recommend it to others as well. Especially if they’re looking for a more substantially plotted thriller to read.

It took me a hundred or so pages to get into it but once it got going it really was a page turner. Lisa Jewell has a knack for suspenseful writing and clever plot twists that make her books soar in popularity. This is my second of her works I have picked up and it was very much worth my time- nothing groundbreaking but a good read nonetheless.

◽️B O O K R E V I E W: Watching You by Lisa Jewell
“Because that’s the thing with getting what you want: all that yearning and dreaming and fantasizing leaves a great big hole that can only be filled with more yearning and dreaming and fantasizing.”
Joey Mullen, and her new husband, move in with her brother and his wife into Melville Heights— which is known for being a very nice neighborhood. One of the residents includes Tom Fitzwilliam, the Headmaster of a school he is credited with turning around.
Joey becomes infatuated with Tom, and she isn to alone. Everyone seems to love him. But one of his students has a bad feeling about him, and can’t help but think he is up to something.
This book has a lot of characters and a lot of things happening, but in the best way. You get perceptive from a lot of different angles and I was so engrossed.
I figured out part of the twist but, not too early, and it was still so satisfying to see it all unfold in the book. I really enjoyed this one.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this page turning thriller. ◽️

Another great book by Lisa Jewell and this one kept me guessing until the end. Intriguing characters and loved how everything ended up being interlinked. Will definitely be seeking out Lisa's next book.

Solid and intriguing. Definitely had some good twists, but I think the red herrings they used were too compelling (and concerning) that I couldn't really get behind the "good guys" as much. Still a good read and had me wondering what would happen next.
