Good psychological theory. Walked away thinking, wow, these people are messed up.

Overall I liked this. The first half of the book dragged on and I nearly quit it. Once a different POV is introduced it became really interesting and I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook. Love when events are recounted from different perspectives and each sides motives become apparent only to the reader. I understand some folks complaints about the writing seemed forced at times - I could see that, but I still enjoyed it.

Started off really strong, ending fell flat. I also guessed the twist which tends to ruin a thriller for me.

I kid you not, I was almost about to "dnf" this book. I went into it pretty blind and as I was reading it I thought the premise was interesting and rather compelling but for some reason I felt rather bored. I wasn't really sure how the authors were gonna take the story considering it was about 400 pages. But I decided to continue due to how hyped the book was and because it was just sitting their on my "shelf". So I decided to give it another chance and I'm glad that I did because the story definitely picked up.

I think around page 130-150 is when my intrigue started to grow so when we got Daphne's POV I was a bit taken a back. But I trusted the process and I'm so glad I did because once we got Daphne's chapter I was HOOKED! I was eating this book up and it became soooo good! I loved it! Jackson's ending was a bit anticlimactic for me, but I'm pretty content with everything else. If you don't mind a slow burn type of book then I totally recommend this book. (Very triggering topics though, so please be careful).
