This was more a Juvenile lit than the YA I was expecting. The story was cute but some of the characters were awfully obnoxious--especially the flighty "I'm too regal to be smart" dad.

The book was also incredibly overbearing on the "save the bees" message. Now, I'm a beekeeper, so I'm all for saving the bees but this was really beating the reader over the head. That being said, it probably didn't seem so obvious in 2011 when the book was written and the plight of bees was just coming to the fore.

Just meh for me, but an 8-year-old would probably love it.

This was such a sweet book! I loved the first one & this was definitely a worthy sequel. Made me really hungry, what with all the vivid descriptions of luscious, velvety honey, though. Time to go get some!
