A fun read. Nice to have Skink as a major character instead of his usual cameo.

Classic Hiaasen, a quick and fun read for any fan, even if it is geared toward young adults. Anytime you have Skink and Jim Tile, you know the bad guys are going down, and Florida wildlife will have the ultimate revenge. Where is Malley, who is the guy she ran away with, and how does her cousin team up with a tall, balding homeless man who wears a shower cap and has a brilliant smile? A striped soda straw will lead the way.

This book is... wow. The plot twist is awesome, and there are annoyingly dramatic cliffhangers at the end of every chapter which make the book hard to put down. Hiaasen loves writing about wildlife, but this book stands out from the others - it is a detective story. This part adventure, part crime story is totally amazing, and deserves five stars.
