I love this series so much I’ve read all the books out currently and they just keep getting better. Overall if you’re ok with the TW then this is a great read but if not this book is not for you because it’s pretty graphic with many things.

Definitely not for the light-hearted as a depicts a very toxic relationship dynamic compared to other danmei, as well as blurred lines regarding age and non-con dynamics. Which can be surprising and off-putting if you're unaware of it going in (that's on me for not researching prior lol, only having heard good things from people who've read the other danmeis I've read). I've heard that this series is one of the series in danmei where you have to trust the process, but it is still a very dark romance regardless.

Honestly, the synopsis didn’t interest me at first but I’ve been looking forward to start 2ha since I loved Yuwu so much! I enjoyed it more than I expected to. I like Meatbun’s writing style with how she sets up character arcs. And it was easy to follow references to the past without it sounding choppy. That being said, this story isn’t for everyone considering the long list of trigger warnings. I’m personally intrigued to continue to see Mo Ran and Chu Wanning settle their misunderstandings. In addition, to see why there are certain events that differed from Mo Ran’s previous life.

Scrolling through my Kindle highlights to write this review just made me want to reread it, and honestly I think that probably tells you more than the actual review will. I'll still write it, though.

I want to start by saying that, out of all the danmei I've tried so far, this one hooked me the fastest. Meatbun's writing just clicks with my brain, and I think the translators have done a fantastic job in making it flow as well. But the story itself can't be ignored when it comes to intrigue. There's a whole first timeline that we don't know about, but we get to see tantalizing snippets, and there were moments where I needed to know how Mo Ran and Chu Wanning got from point A to point Z.

And then there's the reincarnation timeline, with its slow burn romance and damaged characters, and I was honestly eating it all up.

That said, Mo Ran and Chu Wanning are both idiots, so I can already tell this will be a very slow build with a lot of pain before the eventual payoff. But I have faith that it'll be worth it.

I found the translations too poor, and the content too unsuitable. It was very very triggering, which made the jokes come off wrong.
