I found the translations too poor, and the content too unsuitable. It was very very triggering, which made the jokes come off wrong.

FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR SANITY PLEASE TAKE THE TRIGGER WARNINGS SERIOUS!!! This book is no joke. It will leave you traumatized and crying for days but if you manage to pull through it might just change your brain chemistry. It did change mine, as I am still thinking about it 2 years after reading the fan translation (in a positive way). There are very graphic rape scenes so be aware of that, but the story is about SO much more and the ending won't let you down. The age difference between the main couple is 10 years at the beginning of the story with the younger one being 16, but they don't have any sexual interactions during that time and the younger one is pursuing the older one in the end. In my opinion it is not as bad as some people make it out to be.
The author wrote the most tragic scenes (remember: yes, it can and wil always get worse), but will make up for it with comedy and romantic bits that made me want to run up my walls because I want what they have (minus the suffering). If you don't mind the triggers, please do yourself a favor and give Mo Ran and Chu Wanning a chance!
