I enjoyed this book more than the prior book in the series, perhaps because it was more linear. It was nice to see Peter thinking about information sharing and allies. Still love the foxes. It makes sense that the end game is at least in part for Nightingale to retire, but I'll really miss him. I still want to know more about his time during the war. I also liked that we got some additional information about the other magic societies. I hope we see more of them.
Moderate: Religious bigotry and Pregnancy
Minor: Addiction, Deadnaming, Death, Drug abuse, Genocide, Misogyny, Torture, Antisemitism, Murder, Alcohol, and Injury/Injury detail
