The collaboration between these three authors never disappoints me!! Three courageous women, two world wars, Paris Ritz, love and loss, and discovering one’s worth - all told by the three authors who each writes of each character individually. Such a great and unique writing style!

Three storylines were a lot to keep track! The connections were telegraphed fairly early if you were paying attention to the clues, but it was fun to watch the stories unfold and see if my guesses were correct. The main characters were believable, and their concerns/insecurities were universal.

I read historical fiction the way other people read romance and crime fic. it is my guilty pleasure, my beach read, my in-between-two-difficult-books-light-read, I literally cannot get enough. Pls recommend me your favourite historical fiction novels.

In terms of this novel, it was pretty good. Interesting reading a book written by three authors but the prose was consistent and the story reasonably compelling.

Honestly this was a great time. I will always pick up anything Beatriz Williams writes, and as with many of the others, this was a wonderful reading experience. I think I liked this one slightly less than The Forgotten Room and slightly more than The Glass Ocean, though I would really have to reread those ones to say for sure. I just really love the pacing of these stories that are split in three parts, and I always love the romance!

This book explores 3 different women over 3 different decades. We have Aurelia and heiress from 1914 during world war 1. Then Daisy from 1942 during world war 2 where she’s joins the resistance. Finally was have Babs from 1964 who is exploring her deceased husband past from world war 2. The main focus is on each of their own romances during that time. Each chapter alternates between their POVs so at first it can be confusing to jump between the 3 different story lines. I loved how cohesive the writing was between the 3 authors.
