A quick glimpse into the life of Lady Georgiana before the main series. The setting was atmospheric, though there wasn't much of a mystery until basically the end. The whole kiss thing felt a bit abrupt but then it did have to fit into a little novella. This easily works as a teaser to the series proper.

TBRJar Thoughts: Oh what fun it was seeing how Georgie met Darcy! Masked Ball at Broxley Manor by Rhys Bowen was a short but fun listen. I do think you need to be familiar with at least one book in the series to get the full enjoyment. If you already know Georgie and Darcy though---you will love it!

Honestly reading the description of this tiny story is more satisfying then the actual thing itself.

Darcy's
Spoilerletter to Georgie at the end is so out of character for him at this stage in his life I laughed out loud

A fun intro to Georgie! A little disappointed there was no actual mystery being solved, but enjoyable none the less!

Even though it is 0.5, I think this better suits a fan of Georgie books since we get to see some of our favorite characters introduced!

A novella prequel to the Royal Spyness mystery series. Lady Georgiana Rannoch is 34th in line to the throne and poor as a church mouse. Her hateful sister-in-law, Fig, is furious that Georgiana has not received a proposal even though this was her coming out season. And then Georgiana receives invitations to both a reception at the Palace with the King and Queen and to a masked ball at Broxley Manor. Suddenly she realizes that the King and Queen want to marry her off to Prince Otto of Prussia who may or may not be mad. Oh, and Mrs. Ernest Simpson is in attendance and she meets the Prince of Wales. A quick introduction to the series and the main characters who will be featured.

A short little book that provides some background on how Darcy and Georgie met.
