Lovecraft never imagined this.
I'm a fan of "weird West" stories, especially ones involving eldritch beasties, so I knew I had to read this, and I was not disappointed. Joel Stuart is an ex-Confederate with a pitch-black past who gets roped into retrieving the sinister book known as the "Black Bible". He's a vivid character with the most colorful vocabulary I've seen in years, and he doesn't mind leaving a trail of blood in his wake. If you're up for a Lovecraftian tale with enough action to do Bob Howard proud, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
