If I had a penny for every time I read a book that was a metaphor for grief (of a loved one) in the past few months, I’d have two pennies, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

A quick, immersive read for the Shirley Jackson fan who will go for some Ted Chiang if their enby beloved reads it aloud to them. RIYL Karen Russell, Carmen Maria Machado, and especially Helen Phillips.
