Fun premise, kinda slow. Not much romantic tension

The book was very easy to read, and I kept finding myself wanting to pick it up and finish it, but I can't exactly say I enjoyed it. It was a bit... meh.
It's interesting to have the 2 parallel stories play out side by side, where Hannah is coming to the same conclusions in both universes is well written (same conclusion but slight difference in explaination), but the approach to some topics really annoyed me. There were some parts that felt fat shamey (would you still love me if I gained 400lbs?) and
Spoilerher finding out she's pregnant and an abortion not being a thought until several chapters later
didn't make sense to me with Hannah questioning where she is in life.
It was very readable, but some parts definitely gave me the ick and tarnished the rest of the book.

Enjoyed the idea of an alternate universe where we get to see how different Hannah’s life would turn out if she’d made another decision! Tbh I think the chemistry between Hannah and Henry is cute but if only they met under different circumstances… it is weird and unprofessional given their patient & nurse relationship. Also enjoyed the tight knit friendship between Hannah and Gabby, like they’re literally each other’s ride or die.

I guess the point is that both realities can be happening concurrently but that really stretches the boundaries of my brain function. I found myself liking one version of the story more than the other but not really loving the outcomes of either. This is not, imo, TJR’s best novel. It was cute, interesting, heart-wrenching but ultimately, just okay.
