I never seem to be able to find an unproblematic sapphic vampire book :/ liked the synopsis well enough and decided to give this a try but it went immediately to sex and was clearly non consensual but they kept trying to make it seem like it wasn't in the same lines it talked about the mc not wanting it?? Just made me very uncomfortable and just a big no for me.

I was really excited to read this-- I jumped at the opportunity to support a Black indie author and read sapphic vampire smut featuring a queer and plus-sized Black MC with an enemies to lovers trope.
However, Deadly Kiss doesn't feel finished. The choppy sentences and lack of descriptive detail made me struggle to get through what little of the book I read. While the concept is fairly interesting, it's presented to the reader in a "tell, don't show" manner rather than "show, don't tell". It seems the author could've benefitted from a different editor or beta readers before publishing this to make sure it really shined.
