Whenever I return to Iris and Declan's love story, something broken heals inside me. I'm humbled by the growth we see in both characters, their devotion to each other at each stage of their relationship, and the space they create to support, challenge, and wait for each other.
- grumpy x sunshine
- he's all-in and she's commitment-phobic
- plants, plants, plants + dog
- raw, honest internal growth + consistent effort to make amends
- marriage of convenience + fake dating + office romance
- CAL! Oh how I love Cal in this book
It's a masterpiece -- everything you want in a sweeping romance.
Better and better every time I read it.
Run, don't walk. You won't be disappointed (but definitely read The Fine Print first for the best experience!).

SPICE: 🌶️🌶️
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
SYNOPSIS: Declan is destined to be the next CEO of Dreamland, his family’s media empire. There are just a few things he needs to fulfill in his deceased grandfather’s inheritance for that to happen. The clause states he must be married & have an heir to inherit such a prominent title. His assistant, Iris, has been his right-hand, Assistant, and confidant. Declan is difficult and grumpy. Iris is used to this, and is the yin to his difficult yang. When the woman Iris chooses to be Declan’s “arranged wife” bails at the last minute, Iris comes to his rescue last minutes & marries him out of convenience, because she has always been wired to do what’s best for Declan to succeed. They begin a fake marriage/relationship for the public eye. They put rules in place, but the more they act, the more feelings between them deepen.
REVIEW: This is the 2nd book in the Dreamland Billionaires series. I read this as a buddy ready this month. I enjoyed the friends-to-enemies-to love aspect. There’s also forced proximity involved, & a fake dating/relationship, so if you like those tropes, this may just be right up your alley! I had a bit of a hard time relating some of the writing style, which is why I knocked off on my rating a bit. Sometimes I felt like the writing wasn’t as realistic (i.e. how people actually speak and act), but it’s a cute follow up in this series and I’m looking forward to the 3rd and final book (The Final Offer). I give the steam/spice a 2 out of 5🌶️.
Happy Reading!
Minor: Emotional abuse and Abandonment
