I tried okay! It just wasn't working out. It really went to the point where it felt like I was just reading words on a page and not feeling anything by it.

This book could have been at least 200 pages shorter. I nearly DNF, it took 200 pages before anything happened and I skipped through long paragraphs describing things. This author could learn a thing from Leah Bardugo about pacing and timing and not wasting many many pages on unnecessary detail. It would have been far more enjoyable if it was shorter with less waffle and repeating itself. Ends on a cliffhanger forcing you to read the next book, but honestly if it’s another 600 pages of never getting to the point or the real action until the last 100 pages, I’ll give it a miss. I could have loved this, but the delivery needs work.

Too much info dumping. This book could've easily been edited down by 200 pages.

If you’re familiar with Cassandra Clare you know that she has a way with worlds and although The Sword Catcher is vastly different than that of the Shadowhunters, it burns just as bright. I’ll be impatiently waiting for the next installment.
