Alyson Derrick smashes it out of the park. Forget Me Not is heartbreaking and hilarious (i genuinely lol’d) i also nearly cried. the ending is everything, and while i didn’t love the prose at the beginning i feel in love with it by the end. this is obviously perfect for fans of how to get the girl and all other Alyson Derrick or Rachel Lippincott fans! it’s the perfect, heartbreaking yet healing sapphic romance ! (i also read it in less than 24 hours!!)

THIS is a romance novel!!! The love between the two main characters is so warm, patient, and sweet. There are no weird dynamics between them and it’s a love that is worth aspiring toward. The difficulties these characters face are in no way lighthearted. TW for racism, homophobia, and parental abuse. As someone who grew up in the south, this love story is one that is not too far from home. I have such a deep appreciation for the author’s ability to construct a relationship that you not only love to follow but also root for. I often struggle to connect with and cheer for the love interests in romance novels because they seem so shallow and mismatched. I love how easily you can understand the chemistry between these two characters even without the backstory to support it. Nora is so gentle and funny that it makes you fall in love with her too. This book broke my heart and sewed it back up again and again. Would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a sapphic love story!!

This was a beautiful, realistic love story, set within the unlikely scenario of an amnestic teenager forgetting her two year relationship with her girlfriend. The tension and fears were real, and the ending was poignant.

I read this in one day basically and couldn't put it down. I was so worried about what would happen, and I felt so much for the characters. I didn't look at the premise before reading so it caught me entirely by surprise. I really liked this book.

This was a good one! I definitely need to read Derrick’s debut that she coauthored with Rachael Lippincott. I was a little nervous here because let’s be real—an amnesia romance could be really, really cheesy. 🧀 However she did a great job and I didn’t even roll my eyes once! After Stevie has an accident, she cannot remember the last two years of her life, including graduating high school, realizing she might not be straight, and even planning to move across the country with her girlfriend. The entire book is about Stevie trying to find the missing pieces and Nora hoping Stevie will make her way back to her. The LGBTQ+ representation was well done and my heart was sad at Stevie’s fearfulness towards coming out. I would definitely recommend this to high school librarians and their readers. 🧡🤍🩷
