5/5 stars.

what can i say at this point honestly. this part was probably what really kickstarted my love for aot. the way the characters are set up, the way the conflicts are introduced and how they’re handled, as well as mikasa being an absolute badass, armin being an adorable genuis, eren’s discovery of his secret, the sneak peek to captain levi (who i would sELL MY HEART FOR), commander pixis saving the day and being an iCON, and the interactions between all of the other survey corps was just so intriguing and interesting to me. i don’t think this world will ever bore me. plus this probably had the most of my favourite panels, like the art work??? amazing – gruesome at some points, but i love it.

Now that I have already seen the anime version and watched every episode, this volume feels so slow since this is the very beginning! I did not have the patience to read the manga first before watching the anime and now I am suffering the consequences. I guarantee you that if I have read this 3rd volume first I would be extremely ecstatic to learn what happens with Eren.

In this volume, we learn how Eren became a titan which so far is still confusing since Eren does not even know or understand how it is possible that he can change into one in a blink of an eye. Now that people have witness him coming out of the titan carcass, people are scared as to whether Eren is human or if he is a titan? Either way no one wants to take a chance with him being the leading factor to the extinction of humanity. But luckily thanks to Mikasa and Armin realizing that Eren is harmless and useful, the army has decided to use Eren as the leading plan to stick a bolder of a rock to the wall so that way the Titans can leave the city and for it to be the first time that Humans have won against the war on titans.

At first the plan seems fine and dandy but the minute the plan has begun all hell has broke loose. Overall I enjoyed the manga and definitely want to read the rest of series so that way I can finally catch up where the anime left off!!!

This volume was a little slower than the last 2...I felt like not as much happened...but I'm still really enjoying it.
