“To show him how little reason there was to smile. To make him tremble and withdraw from her the way he should—if only he knew.”

This was an interesting read and told in quite a unique perspective as we kind of get to meet the ‘villains’ first then follow our main character as the ‘villains’ interact with her throughout her life. It has more of a slow, sensual build up and you are never really sure what it going to happen.
The writing was very effortless and easily built up these atmosphere and suspense. I think the ending was interesting and I’m obviously not going to spoil it, but it did take more of a different route with the characters.
Whilst I do think more could have happened in the book, it was good for a read with a creepy atmosphere that was quite different to the typical approach making it a good read.
