Finally got around to finishing this book. I felt the mystery was all over the place. We also got more of Colin and Perveen's romance yet at the same time it seems it won't last long due to the cultural differences as stated by Perveen herself.
Also this probably will be the last book I will read from the author due to their (now deleted) misinformed post on what was happening in Gaza. I can only hope they have learned from it.

Moderate: Gun violence, Blood, Fire/Fire injury, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Drug use, Miscarriage, Physical abuse, and Sexual assault

I loved this fourth book of the Perveen Mistry series. She always focuses on the restrictions imposed upon women in 1920s India. In this case, the book dealt with women's obstetric health and how a man could assault a woman in his household without recrimination. Fascinating information and characters I loved.
Graphic: Bullying, Confinement, Death, Domestic abuse, Infertility, Infidelity, Mental illness, Misogyny, Physical abuse, Rape, Sexism, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Slavery, Toxic relationship, Violence, Forced institutionalization, Blood, Police brutality, Medical content, Medical trauma, Death of parent, Murder, Pregnancy, Fire/Fire injury, Colonisation, Injury/Injury detail, and Classism
