Before I write the review, I will tell something funny and brouhaha about this book. Why just this book? Well..

Dark Hunter is a well known series in my country, Indonesia. I do not pick the Indonesian version simply because :
- I had read the 4 first books in English. It will feel awkward if I read the Indonesian version. I know I'm weird
- The cover really.. hurt my eyes. I don't get why the publisher had need to put all shirtless men who badly photoshop into the cover. No offense please, just try to be honest here.

And the latest reason is why I told you dear my friend, funny. See, in the first the publisher use a .. really fuggly cover. I think it's not their fault. Ias aka Alexion describe as Greek with blond hair and a light stubble. So, they put an image that literally represent him in the cover. With a "BUT" here, it's really ugly. There are an outcry from fans (and yes I know them, since some are my friends), they declare that they don't want to buy the book if the publisher do not change the cover.

And guess what? The publisher decide to change it, into a cover that feature shirtless man with cropped head (I suggest you to see into Indonesian cover version). Nah not bad, but it is amused me to no end. I wonder if US publisher have this kind of reaction OVER COVER and decide to change it. Until this time, I just know one. It's Tangle of Need by Nalini Singh (and the Indonesian version of her Guild Hunter, published by the same publisher are fugly folks! Really fugly!), but it was change because the model is too familiar (well, Frances is too well known). Other than that, hmm never.

Okay, enough about the not so tiny and itty bitty tidbits. I admit that I'm dissapointed with Sins of the Night. Well, Kiss of the Night is better than this book, and I just found that book was okay. After I blown away with Val and Tabby's story in Seize the Night,Alexion and Dangereus St Richard's fill like a filler story. I don't get any connection with both people, and the conflict just so, so. It also a light read, which I finish reading in 4 hours (I read the English version) and not a good sign for me after all.

My biggest disappointment is in the ending. Wow, what kind of ending that Ms Kenyon deliver? Too easy, too deus ex machina. Too little conflict and less Acheron interfere here. Even we will know more about him anyway. Stryker is too two dimensional here. Everything is too easy *throw hands up* make this book forgettable for me. I can't warm into Alexion, nor that I fascinated by Danger. I guess Val and Tabby already steal my heart when read theirs.

The best thing maybe just Simi and her sister Xirena, whose are cute even they are demon. And even I know that tortured hero is Ms Kenyon's trademark, I just hope she give them mercy and not pain, over and over.

Yeah, a nice add for Dark Hunter fans.

I really enjoyed this one. We get so many clues and bits and pieces about Ash and it was so cool to see more demons and be in a different setting with some fresher characters because I was really starting to hate seeing the previous characters so often!

It was a pretty sad story for the most part. There's a time limit to their relationship and I'm glad they kind of just accepted it, I mean they got teary at the end and questioned their fate but I think that's normal when you have to say goodbye forever. I'm also super glad for the epilogue because I was worried I wouldn't see the meeting and I was gutted, then tada I got my wish and all was right again!

Ahh Alexion. Archeron's enforcer. The boogey man that makes sure all good little Dark Hunters are tucked into bed at night, and the one that makes sure all the bad little Dark Hunters scream before the night is through. This is his story.

For the most part it turns out all good for him, although your heart does break, and stops altogether for him at one point in the story. But fear not! For your heart will resume beating with joy before you turn the last page.

Oh, and sweet, psychotic, shopaholic little Simi? She apparently is not alone in the world, and Alexion is the one to initiate the family reunion. Have fun with that. I know I did...

I loved this book for the pure humor that Kenyon saturated us in. She was definately in a good mood when writing this one...

A good story which makes me even more curious about Acheron. I can't wait to read his story!

I honestly thought this one was going to be my least favorite in this series, but I really enjoyed Danger and Alexion. Plus that epilogue was amazing.

This was my least favorite so far. I thought it was so boring and couldn't wait to finish it. I actually struggled reading it. I don't know why because I really liked all the books in this series up until this book. I also thought his book was extremely predictable. So that's that's hopefully ill like the next book in the series.
