Liked: the prison setting, the plot premise

Disliked: the characters were bland, and I'm getting tired of clunky YA books that could do with being edited down 100 pages. The phrase "amber-eyed guard" appeared way too many times

3.5 stars!! I read this for my book club. I loved the story, however the middle section felt a bit repetitive but other than that I was invested!! I can’t wait to read the next book.
