"My job is books, information. I based my career on the idea that words on pages bound and packaged help people. That they make people grow, they show people lives they've never seen. They teach people about themselves, and here I am, at my lowest point, rejecting help from the one place I always believed it would be."

"It's empowering to be the one holding someone else up. It makes you feel strong, even stronger than you are."

It's definitely not "Daisy Jones and the Six" but it's still quite a wonderful story. Sometimes a good love story is just exactly what I need - this fit the bill quite well.

What I liked:
- The chronology - it's a perfect way to tell this particular tale
- The fact that Elsie is a librarian and Ben is a snob who won't read a book unless it's brand new
- Ana: definitely my favorite character. I want to meet her IRL and go out for drinks with her.
- Being made to cry several times, including at work while reading on my lunch break (the making me cry part pushed this from three to four stars)

What I disliked:
- Elsie, most of the time. Sure I know she was grieving but that's really not an excuse to be mean.
- Some of the dialog felt forced. It never broke me out of the story so it wasn't a complete deal-breaker.

Who I think should read this:
- Anyone who wants a bit of a safe cry
- Anyone who likes quirky love stories
- Librarians. We should read ALL books about librarians, even if they're not actually related to librarianship, as a job requirement, so we'll know what the world thinks of us.

something in me wants to give it 2.5 stars but then i remember the good lines that makes it good. i even cried a couple times reading this so…

maybe i just didn’t like elsie that much or it didn’t go as i wanted them to go.
