April 2018 - Ben was exited to see this, and it's just as wonderful as the first book.

In the first chapter, the younger brother calls himself medium. My 3.5 year old calls herself medium. Mouse does not like mustard on his hot dogs. My daughter does not like mustard either. "Mustard is not medium." PERFECTION.

When the grandpa started falling asleep in the chair, I said to my husband, "He is going to say he's not sleeping. He is just resting his eyes." Because that is what MY Dad ALWAYS says. And sure enough, he said exactly that. This author has captured real life perfectly for the beginning chapter book set. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

Another great Charlie & Mouse book! This is a great book for young readers who are ready for easy chapter books and for grown-ups to read to pre-readers. The humor and way the children think and talk are both true-to-life and make it an enjoyable read for both children and adults.

This is my new favorite Early-Reader Series. Charming, funny and real.

I liked this one even more than the first in the series. I love the relationship that the boys have with each other and their grumpy. It feels loving, but also realistic - for example, sometimes Charlie was visibly annoyed when grumpy fell asleep while Charlie was singing. This is a great transitional reader with several chapters, perfect for early readers. It was an adorable, funny, and still gentle read that will definitely find an audience in my library.

I definitely enjoyed this better than the first Charlie & Mouse. Sweet stories of Charlie, Mouse and Grumpy, their grandfather. Berry enjoyed this one, too.

5 stars just isn't enough. Grumpy reminds me a lot of my partner, who we call Grumpy, because he is very grumpy in the mornings no matter how much he loves his grandbabies. Perhaps this Grumpy isn't a a grandparent. I suppose Grumpy could be a favourite uncle. What's certain is that there sure is a lot of love between Charlie, Mouse and him.
Like the first in this series, we get to spend time with this delightful family while they go about their daily business of ordinary living. I have so much love for all of them!

Cosy read about a grandfather visiting his two grandkids (boys? I'm not sure about Mouse) and then being sad to go. The last chapter with the departure really tugged at my heartstrings but I'm not sure it would endear itself to readers. Needs more testing, I guess.
