I came across this artist years ago when I fell in love with her greeting cards. The realism and colors were awesome. It was nature at its finest. At one point I found and bought a wooden garden carrying case, for lack of a better word, put out by Hallmark. I still have it and use it to hold various nic-nacs.
This book is a gentle reminder of Ms. Bastin's many talents. Whether you are a gardener, nature lover, artist or simply someone whom appreciates lovely illustrations, this book will pull you in. Besides the wonderful artwork, most pages contain a few statements of what she thought when she was drawing each sampling. Simply put, this is a composite of beautifully-colored bits of nature.
