I absolutely love Backman's writing and this was no exception. These were brief, but thought-provoking and heart wrenching. And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer was exceptional, although that title is a crime. Sebastian and the Troll was my least favourite and felt a bit like an unnecessary addition after two knock out novellas. Overall, this had me choking back tears but like most Backman novels this focuses mainly on men (fathers and sons).

The first two short stories are amazing. They’re quite good and very impactful. The last one moves just a little too fast to leave the same impact. They are short stories, but their messages and characters are strong enough to make them feel just as long in experience. I definitely recommend it, but don’t let the last one discourage you… it has a great message anyway.
