each story was extremely memorable. my personal favorites being ‘mr. karrigan’s phone’ and ‘the life of chuck’. the other stories were well done just veiled by the spotlight from these two. at their best, each story was thought provoking and eerie to the point of being left awake pondering over what was read. at their worst they were enjoyable stories each touching on various aspects of the paranormal i was happy to dive into whenever i found a moment. the lengths varied greatly, with some stories being exactly that, stories, and others felt like small novels. an enjoyable read with occasional gaps in interest as the sudden change in length affected the flow, yet nonetheless, a book i recommend to new King readers.

Stephen King just can't resist shoving in as much fatphobia and sexism as possible into his work.
