With distinct and engaging art, a bold storyline, and dynamic writing, this creative team have crafted a compelling crime-noir graphic novel that is part heist thriller, part Stranger Things. The characters are distinct and drive the plot at every step. The gaming sequences at the start of every chapter work well as an added layer that also deepen the story. And the dramatic climax is compelling it its delivery--bringing together the humor, tragedy, and misplaced intentions that define the book from the very first page.

This graphic novel wanted to be Stranger Things so badly, except with Reservoir Dogs type shenanigans instead of paranormal stuff. Basically, four nerdy teens decide to foil another bank robbery by robbing it themselves first. The plan doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It was... okay?

There is so much I liked about this. Except that part where it ended.

Quirky. The chapters all start with the kids playing a game of some sort which was a little confusing at first but made for some really cool art. It's dark and funny, not suitable for middle grade even though the kid characters are young. Certainly a book I'd recommend but won't be re-reading.
