Guess who else does some time travel and gets into a heap of trouble in this book??? I know there aren't a lot of choices, but let's just say this is a fun book. I had wondered how Gabaldon could keep this story fresh and interesting, but indeed she did. A great read.

Each subsequent book in this series is declining in quality- not in terms of language, but in terms of plotting. It’s hard for me to feel as attached to the characters anymore.

I wrote a long review and then my phone deleted it cause it sucks!
But anyways, I love this series. I thought I would be bothered by the books moving away from Claire and Jamie's romance but I actually really enjoy the family aspect!
And getting to read a story that has Bree and Roger as main characters is freaking amazing!
One thing that did bother me was the change in POV but no clear indication that there was a change so sometimes I wasn't sure who's perspective we were on.
I've also decided that this series is not for everyone. After Outlander I recommended it to everyone but I think this series is really only for people who are in it for the long haul. And don't mind a crazy long story that goes more into depth than any other series I've read. And you really need to love the family and their story. Not just Claire and Jamie.

This book was very jam packed with plot but also lots of characters and character growth you see Young Ian grow up as well as Brianna and Roger.
This book induced lots of tears but also lots of perspective and growth. It was one of the best books in the later half of the series I believe.
Spoiler
You get the pleasure of seeing Jamie be a father to Brianna and how that changes his personality to the reader. This with Claire and Brianna’s relationship playing a large role in the novel, makes you feel closer to Jamie and Claire than you did before.Graphic: Racism, Rape, Torture, Blood, Slavery, Death, Grief, and Physical abuse

This one wasn't one of my favourites in the series but I did enjoy it.

Again, so many things have happened, and it's really nice to have Brianna and Roger in the same time with Claire and Jamie, even if there has been a lot of trouble for them all!! Poor Roger, he really didn't do anything wrong, but Lizzy thought he had, and that was enough for Jaime and Ian :(
