This series is very quickly becoming one of my favorite series. I am trying to read all of the books slowly so I can enjoy it longer.

I was hooked from the start with this book. I turned the pages with much anticipation to see what was going to happen next.

Devney is a magical sorcerer of words and story telling. I don't know how anyone couldn't fall in love with her stories and words.

This story had me reeling and my heart pounding. I couldn't wait to get to the end but at the same time, I didn't want it to end. Such a wonderfully told story of a second chance romance with a little bit of suspense.

I found this an easy, enjoyable read. The two main characters had really good chemistry and I liked watching their relationship get back on track, given the nature of the plot. I thought the storyline was interesting - them being married when they were younger and now reuniting - and it was nicely explored. You could really tell they did love each other, and they had some good well written scenes together. The eventual conflict between them was also quite well-written for me, I thought it was quite emotional.

The side mystery was quite interesting, I found some scenes with it quite intense which I wasn’t expecting. The twist completely caught me by surprise, compared to the previous novel where I guessed it quite early on. It was a genuine shock to me and I didn’t catch any of the hints.

I liked the main storyline but I found aspects of it to be the books weakest points. Some of it was not believable.
SpoilerI’d initially been under the impression they were married for one night but had been in a relationship before - but they weren’t, they married as strangers and then separated the next day. It wasn’t even like a drunken mistake, they (mainly she) believed they’d spend the rest of their lives together. Also, she only made half-hearted attempts to find him to end the marriage, and the reasons she didn’t try harder were very flimsy.

I would recommend it if you like small town romances with a bit of drama and some mystery.

I wasnt the biggest fan of the couple within this book, but I did like the story and the plotline outside their relationship enough to raise my rating. I was very pleasantly surprised to see so many characters from Devney’s other series that I had already met, not realizing they originated from this book :)
