Leshi, the female human lead, is running away from a forced arranged marriage when she stows away on a businessman’s spaceship. Silas, the male feline alien lead, is a conman with an AI that has become something more and no life plans. But Leshi makes him want something more, as well as making his AI threaten lives. So now they need to sort out the gang threatening Leshi’s family, her parents’ plans to deal in slaves, a ship’s AI who believes she is her own person, and misunderstandings about why Silas would like Leshi to stay with him…

This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and involves characters that were notable secondary characters in previous stories. There is significant character development that allows the relationship development to occur, as well as important interactions with secondary characters. It is emotionally engaging and the intimate moments are both erotic and emotional. A great story I recommend for sci fi/fantasy romance readers. It stands alone but is most fun in the series.
