One thing I like very much about this series is that the detective, Sonora Blair, is both a policewoman and a single mother. I enjoy watching her balance the demands of career/job and home. This one was very good—about a woman who dies just as she is about to finger a very respected local DA for the murder of his wife years ago, shortly before she was to give birth. Now his second wife is pregnant—and accidents are beginning to happen to her too.

Just remembered that this book existed. I first read it when I was 13 (10 years ago) and pretty sure the sex scene in it was my sexual awakening (don't remember if it was good or anything, I just remember that it was new to me). Wild stuff.
