Loved the overall storyline/plot.
But the amount of times this author used the word ‘gargantuan’ is criminal. I felt confused and not entirely convinced of where this author was going with revealing the scorpians character. They want to protect Auset, but then come across extremely misogynistic with the names they called her and saying things like ‘she’s ours’. I picked this up not knowing that it was going to be detailed porn, I would’ve enjoyed it without so much of it.

God I couldn’t rant about this book for HOURS. Although the writing is beautifully descriptive at times the book is boring, confusing, and surprising flimsy for its size. I’m actually mad that I read this. 

One star just for how genuinely good the first part of this story was. Unfortunate that I can’t give it any more than that.

I'm glad this audiobook came out as I was reading this book, as I enjoyed the narration. This is a reverse harem/why choose story. Asset's story is grim and I found myself as invested as she was to discover her past and achieve her revenge against those that wronged her - because who doesn't like a revenge plot? Plus meeting Scorpions and the spice that may come from that. The pacing can get a bit slow towards the middle, and I perhaps would have changed a couple things in the ending, but over all enjoyed and would recommend for those fans of darker fantasy
