This was exactly what I needed! So far this volume has been the funniest one for me yet. I found myself literally laughing out loud at all the wacky new characters we meet and Luffy's comical banter with them. The battle between him and Buggy was so unserious and highly entertaining.
I loved getting to meet Gaimon in the forest and hearing his ridiculous backstory on how he ended up in the situation he's in. I hope to see more of him in future volumes.
I found Usopp to be annoying yet also endearing. He's a lost boy who tells tales to get attention, but also to cheer up those he cares about. I feel that he would be a good asset to the crew.
Overall, this was just a silly goofy time and I'm excited to continue. This type of manga is exactly what the doctor ordered.
