Set in my home town of London all the while being about one of my favourite fictional worlds. Realistic and unrealistic all at once.

Beautifully written, as usual. The characters all fully fleshed and far from perfect. Just how I like them. Jem is adorably sweet, given how much he’d been through. Will’s harshness does drive me crazy sometimes. There is no need to be so cruel, but I feel once I understand what it is he’s hiding I’ll forgive all the harshness. Charlotte and Henry are wonderful adoptive parents.

I cannot wait to see what the next book of this trilogy entails. Thank you Cassandra Clare.

Reread - 22/04/18 - Still that beautiful mix of real and unreal. Duty and family. Monster and hero. This reread has captured my heart in unsuspecting ways. The audiobook was a fantastic new way to grabble this story.

Definitely enjoyed this more than the mortal instruments.
Although will is just a more grumpy jace I think.
