En general no estuvo mal, pero el final me pareció bastante tonto; básicamente todo el conflicto se resuelve con el poder del amor.
Además, el inicio es lento y los personajes me caen mal (a excepción de uno).

I am genuinely surprised that this book's average rating is higher than the first. Did I read the same book? While it was a good book, it wasn't nearly as captivating as the first. The beginning and end of the novel redeem it, but the middle is pretty...boring. Unlike other people, I didn't expect this to be exactly like the first novel. It couldn't be. This is a new part of Todd and Viola's story. That being said, it just never connected the way it should have. I am excited to read the last part of this trilogy though!

The Ask and the Answer doesn't give the reader any downtime after The Knife of Never Letting Go. It picks up right where the story left off and plunges Todd and Viola into a whole new part of the war going on within their world.

"Things change, but they stay the same."

The world around Todd and Viola is changing, and war is an inevitable outcome of all the tension that's been building up. But when they are both ripped apart from each other, the question becomes can they hold on to the good within themselves and hold on to each other even when there are those who wish to destroy what they have?

Even though The Ask and the Answer isn't on a high-adrenaline chase like The Knife of Never Letting Go was, the pace never lets up in the least. There are constant threats, those who seek to use them both in a war neither of them wanted to be apart of to begin with, and my favorite part about this book is watching both Viola and Todd change despite the hard fight they both put up.

The best part about this series is by far the main characters. They are like the sparks of hope within this dark and dreary world that seems to be corrupt beyond repair and only getting worse. Their love and friendship is what keeps them human and keeps them fighting for humanity as a whole.

While there were definitely parts of this book that made me feel like it's all absolutely hopeless, I still can't help but root for these two to come out on top. Everything seems to be against them at every turn and it's both excruciating and exciting to watch them battle back against those who wish to destroy their spirits.

I look forward to reading the final book in their journey. But I just really hope that there's a light at the end of the dark, dark tunnel they've both found themselves in.

The trilogy continues with The Ask And The Answer. It picks up directly after we left off in The Knife Of Never Letting Go and there’s a lot of action over the pages.

Violet and Todd find themselves caught up in the currents of opposing leaders hell-bent on pushing their own agenda. The grey-scale of morality is a key theme in the book, and the dual timelines are a good vehicle for this.

Although I didn’t enjoy it as much as much as first book, it’s still a great read and I’ll definitely be finishing the trilogy off… it was quite the cliffhanger to leave things on.

The book is very gripping and addictive to read for sure! For me personally, I found it becomes a lot more about war and that side of things than adventure. Also, Todd and Viola are hardly together the whole book and their dynamic was fun in the first book! I think there was quite a lot of violence, including torture & killings, so decided not to read the 3rd and final book in the series

This book is SO GOOD! Holy cow. I haven’t read a second book of a trilogy this good in I don’t know how long. It was meaningful to the story and character development, and it’s EXCITING. No sophomore slump book here. And that ending… omg. On to book 3!
