Jane Harper is one of the most talented authors out there. Read any of hers and you won’t be disappointed if you like great characters, a plot that keeps you guessing, and intriguing writing.

Jane Harper! You do things to my brain and I love it. While I do this this is one of your weaker stories I think that is mostly because our “bad guy” was really just meh. He wasn’t bad enough for me to feel glad he got caught and he wasn’t really a good guy in the wrong place so I felt sad. It just left me feeling meh. But I did love the two storylines going back and forth! Also I can tell you’re a newer mom like myself because of how you write about that sweet Angel baby!

I was excited to read this book because of all the great reviews. At first I was drawn into the book but about 50% through the book started to drag for me and I could not figure out the purpose of the rest of the book.

a VERYY slow burn character driven mystery. i wasn’t super intrigued by the mystery until about the last 25%. it just felt too long and too slow to get to stuff actually happening. i did get into it at the end, but that wasn’t enough to make up for the rest of the book. however, i do think this would make a good tv show. like a super slow character driven show similar to The Sinner.

Slow moving...kind of a mystery, kind of a family drama. I still have a lot of questions and don’t really care to have them answered. But I sure am fascinated by the caves and the town!

After reading The Dry, I was keen to follow up. The Survivors did not disappoint. Another great book with twists and turns and uncovering past events.
