Started off naively believing this would be a hell I could not only stay sane through but almost enjoy & ended halfway to an existential crisis. This could’ve been longer than 100 pages, this concept is fascinating.

So I found out that my favourite kind of horror is existential horror and this hit the nail on the head. Absolutely loved this.

Seen some people say it was slow and boring and whatever, and yes, sure, you could argue that nothing really happens I guess? I can’t say it’s boring by any means though. It’s the concept itself that’s really interesting. The fact that I’m still thinking about being in the main character’s position weeks later - and that fills me with that positive dread you get from really good horror - makes this five stars for me easily.

This book was a quick, yet absurd and rather existential read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the light criticism it had in religion, eternity, the end. The demon Interview was light hearted and funny, followed by a horrifying sense of longevity. You hope and hope that a good conclusion will come of it, but none does.

The prose was interesting and, at some times, beautiful. The description of societies and behaviours in the library over the years was intriguing. It hardly felt like a hundred pages.
