I was hugely disappointed by the book. I always wanted to read it, hoping it was more sinister, gothic and haunting. Unfortunately it was none of the above. It was boring. Not scary at all. Huge let down.

this is such a good book!!! definitely deserves all of the hype and the classic title, shirley jackson is a phenomenal writer
