I really love Alice Hoffman's writing. I flew though this book. I wish the ending was more neat but I enjoyed reading it.

This was my first Alice Hoffman read & I didn’t know what to expect. With the varying reviews, I decided to try it as it was relatively shorter than what I usually read. The stories were INSANELY CRAZY and I loved them all. I wish it just kept on going and going.. now onto more of her novels, loving how the authors brain works thus far!

Alice Hoffman is a master, of course. But I didn't realize that this was a 'novel' made up of loosely related short stories. Since the ribbon tying them together was the house itself and not the characters within, I got a little frustrated, wanting to know more about characters and stories that abruptly ended, and not always wanting to move on to new ones.
