I wouldn't call it Breakfast Club meets Walking Dead, it's more like a poor man's World War Z. I really am NOT into the zombie craze, but this sounding interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. Gory, yes, but I'm assuming that pretty much par for the course in the zombie genre. You kind of have to suspend your disbelief for this genre, but there were a few places I thought, really? Or - Wasn't that guy bitten? Shouldn't he be changing too? But overall, it was an OK read. If there is a sequel (which is possible), I guess I would be interested in finding out where it went from here.

Sorry, but glittering zombies??? No, just No. Kthnxbye~

I already didn't like that Twilight made glittering vampires (it was soooo hilarious at times), but now we have GOLDEN glittering ZOMBIES... Like what the hell? Did not Finish.

Not the best zombie book I've read but most certainly not the worst. It did have it's moments. It's marketed as a young adult novel so it did come across sometimes as juvenile but I still likey it. Plus it did have zombies in it.

This book had a loud of pointless homophobia, racism, and sexism. I don’t care if it comes out “after the bad” it’s pointless. This book feels like the author was never a teenager. But the righting was detailed and holds up through the whole book. The book has a lot of accurate theatre references that as a stage manger I enjoyed, but I could not look past the pointless comments back this book one I will never recommend.

I gave this 2 stars because I really liked the idea of it, the concept of it.... but really it wasn't done right. The teenage boy doesn't ooze, but SLIMES out of the pages. I couldn't take it. I read a lot of YA, and this was definitely teenage overkill.

"What exactly would constitute an emergency at this point, and who the hell would we call anyway?"

Let's start with some admissions. First, I hate zombie books. Last time I remember trying to give one a chance, I ended up trashing the poor author with my review because the book was terrible. Secondly, I was torn between wanting to love this author (because I've met him and I actually do think he's great) and wanting to hate him (because, you know, jealousy). Alright here we go...

This book was so fast paced it caught me off guard. I picked it up thinking I had a little time to read one chapter...and read the first half of the book, schedule be damned. I have been taking longer to read a book lately, but this one was done in a day. You just have to keep flipping pages.

The content will not really surprise you, since you have to see the cover art to read it. But there are differences between what you are expecting and what you get. There are places that make you think and the characters are smart and lovable. I liked this way more than I was expecting.

Mr. Leveen is destined for greatness if he keeps writing like this. Get this one, you won't regret it!

Surviving high school has never been tougher. Brian must face his classmates, teachers, and friends as they become blood thirsty monsters.

It was very predictable and full of so many tropes I could barely finish it. I would not recommend this book.
