Endlessly funnier than the movie adaptation (and I liked the movie adaptation)! Well written, and Tommy Wiseau is pretty much the ultimate character.

"The Room" has been referred to as "the 'Citizen Kane' of bad movies" and is a cult classic that I started attending midnight screenings of in 2008. The film hits so many points of absurdity that I couldn't wait to buy this book, written by one of the film's stars. He splits the story between his struggles as a young actor and the process of making the movie, but everything revolves around the mysterious director, producer, writer, and star of "The Room": Tommy P. Wiseau. Where is he from? How old is he? Where did he acquire the movie's six-million-dollar budget? He refuses to answer any of these questions, and that's only the beginning.

I've been to fifteen-or-so midnight screenings of this turkey, so reading all of these behind-the-scenes stories made me warm and fuzzy. I couldn't put it down. Ultimately, Tommy Wiseau ends up pursuing his version of the American Dream with an earnestness and resilience that put most others to shame. How amazing it is, then, that this bizarre film is the result.

Watch the film, go to a screening, and read the book. It'll change your life.
