A lot of the remarks and character descriptions in this book regarding race made me extremely uncomfortable, not to mention some of the characters thoughts and decisions which weren’t related to race which were also quite problematic in their own right… So despite finishing it i’m not going to give it a rating. Disappointed to say the least.

Okay, so this is what i have to tell you about this book: if you don't like cheesy romantic stories about teenagers in love for the first time, don,t read it. But if you don't care about any of that, and if you want good characters and great plot development and character development, you will love this book. I was gonna give this book 3 stars because first of all, i thought it was a bit predictable, at first, but the end changed it all. All the emotions of the characters and the final line was amazing. And there's also one thing, at some points i was so depressed with this book because it dealt with some heavy stuff and also, except the end, where i was suddenly out of nowhere was able to feel their feelings, i could not relate t their feelings for one another because, the saddest part was that i myself have never been in love. Actually this was the actual reason i started this book, i wanted to explore what it is like to fall in love for the first time, and gotta say, this book did prepare me for some stuff for the future, but the thing was that i just couldn't relate! I am sure that one day when i fall in love, and have heart either be broken or complete, i will read this book again just for the feelings. Now you might be asking why only 4 stars? Well, as great the story was, it still had some weak moments, sometimes a little too much sweet for me. And one more thing, this book also had something that was amazing, music! This book told me what music and comics had back in the 80's, value! They had value and they were also very important. I am a big fan of classic musics and comics, plus books as you know, and they all played such a big role in this book. And i think it goes without saying but i think the beatles are the kings of rock and roll, (i am not counting elvis because he's a different story), and the book had several references of the beatles scattered all over it.

Now, for those who have read this book, i will say one thing: THREE WORDS LONG!

I have a lot of feels for this book. How mixed up life can be and how crazy us human beings are at keeping things to ourselves.

I loved that a lot was left to the imagination. You got snip-its but we’re left to decide the rest.

Growing up in the 80’s probably helped as it was completely believable of the time.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm not usually a fan of romance, but this was very different and very relatable. The characters seemed like real people, either like your self or people you've known. The ending was gut-wrenching and I hope there is a sequel planned. This was an easy book to get into and I read it in 2 days. If your looking for a sweet story I recommend it, just stop reading 20 pages before the ending.

I peta. I peta molt.

I funciona molt bé, principalment, pels seus personatges.

I guess there’s a reason why, when I said I liked Fangirl, that everyone told me to read Eleanor & Park... and why there was such a long wait for it at the library. I L-O-V-E-D this book. Like- I would re-read it. Apparently the abrupt ending is classic Rowell, but this time it felt complete. Loved loved loved.
