Duhamel is very playful, spunky, sassy. This takes traditional poetic forms like a sonnet or sestina and almost parodies them all while sticking to the form. I am not much interested in pop culture or movies or popular music so many of these poems did not appeal to me at all. That said I think if we had more poets like Denise Duhamel more people would read poetry.
