Max and Marla are true Olympians and set out to imitate their heroes on the TV.

Rendered in ink and watercolor, this picturebook is filled with beautiful vignettes, plenty of white space and one adorable owl. The spot illustrations are as magical as the full page spreads.

Unfortunately, the text is just uninspiring, with awkward pacing and one cannot truly separate one from the other in a picturebook.

Reminded me a little of Elephant and Piggie Go For A Drive, though the humour of Mo Willems' books is more in line with my own.
