This is the longest book I've read that sucked. I kept hoping it'd get better. But it didnt. Describes battles very well but the setting not so much. I had no idea where anyone was, who anyone was, besides boudica and ban. Longest snooze ever.

WOW! That was powerful.

I chose to read this with the audio. An excellent choice which worked for me. It helped to keep me focused, because without it I wouldn't have finished this book. It is a very slow book and detailed. The detailed parts is what I needed help with from the audio. The soul of the characters is what kept me engrossed in the story and brought tears to my eyes.

“The work left her exhausted and irritable and she would have made poor company, but the thought of him gave colour to days that might otherwise have passed in shades of grey and she was grateful for it.”
