I really enjoyed the series The Girl in 6E and was trying to decide what I wanted to read next by this author. I saw where she answered a fan and said this was her favorite book to write, so I went with this.

I recently lost my dad to lung cancer and I wish there were a disclaimer that this book has not one, but 2 cancer patients/deaths in it. However because of how well written the book was it didn’t bother me as much as it does in other books/shows.

It was very different from what I normally read but I loved it. This author is extremely talented and I look forward to reading more of her amazing work!

I went into this book with no expectations, but I was completely blown away by the time I finished. I liked the way the main character's back story slowly unfolded with each chapter. When the truth is revealed at the end, I felt completely gutted. If you enjoy contemporary fiction with a bit of suspense, this is a pretty solid book.

The timing of when each story was happening was confusing

Definitely dragged on at times and Helena drove me crazy. However, it was a decent read by the time I finished the novel.

Everyone hides; we hide from different things but we all find ourselves huddled up in our minds hiding from one thing or another. We ache to be free of turmoil but fear the consequence of revealing our true selves. So we hide and we put on a mask.

The writing in The Ghostwriter is beautiful; the way the words curve and bleed together reaching out and connecting to you. Tiny invisible strings that tether you to a world not your own. Every page turned caused those strings to constrict. One by one they break.

An emotional charge spills from the pages and fills you with suspense. It was impossible to put it down. The words weren't just formed they were created and they held life. Where there is life there is death.

Helena Ross, an author with 3 months to write the last book she'll ever write. One so deeply rooted in her soul that her entire being aches from the onslaught of memories she's tried to forget. She carries with her a burden of a dark secret that daily threatens to rip her under and wash her away. It's her story; her truth and her lies. There are two other characters that are important, a rival enemy who isn't as they seem and an assistant that is more than they seem. With qualities and emotional depth that you instantly love them both.

Torres delivers a contemporary suspense that crushes the breath from you in one fell swoop and dangles your heart from a single string remaining at the end. The final words ripping your soul in two before quietly stitching it back together, pieces missing.

Definitely one of my favorites this year and one I'll be begging the author to inform me of where I can get one signed.

Oh my God.
I. AM. GUTTED.
This story was so interesting from the very first page. I needed to know everything and when I found out, I almost wished I hadn't. Gut wrenching and beautiful. I need to go cry for an hour now.
One of the best books I've read this year.

I really loved this book. It was well-written, easy to read, and kept me in suspense until the end. I couldn’t put it down, and it’s been awhile since I’ve read a book that I absolutely *had* to finish as quickly as possible because I had to know what happened. I would absolutely recommend this if you’re looking for an entertaining suspense/mystery.

I went into this book not really expecting anything, knowing it would be enjoyable after reading The Good Lie.
I loved how not a single clue was given for how everything would unfold and the structure of the book is great, especially for parallel storylines. The only thing that I didn’t like was how quickly the book was wrapped up after the main events occurred.
