Without the humour and meta-ness of the other Tinglers, the flaws in the writing are a lot more of a sticking point with this longer Chuck Tingle story.
The style of the first person narrative can be a little annoying and it gets overly preachy at times (par for the course with Tingle but feels more off in this more serious novella). The blank space is introduced as a cause but is never developed or explained, it seems unnecessary. I was also expecting there to be an actual twist at the end (tbh i was expectingBrandon to be queer but no), and the implicit praise of the gay militia and use of the word spastic was a bit off for me
One the whole a bit disappointing, but was a quick pageturner and had some delicious gore in it
