I’m glad it was fast-paced because it wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. Kitty wasn’t a very likeable main character. I am comparing it to Sweetpea, which tbf the author does mention she got inspiration from, but it didn’t quite itch the same scratch

🍸 Instagram star and influencer, Katy Collins is surrounded by fame and fortune. A normal night out turns into a freaky accidental death of the man who followed her from the nightclub. But what also remained is a new addiction - the thrill of killing.

🍸 Dark, twisted and hilarious. It had those dark comedy thriller elements that I normally gravitate towards. Loved the pop culture references.

🍸 The plot lacked some originality and often lost its sense of realism. Overall story felt like it was from a TV series. It's obvious these characters aren't people you'd want to hangout with and Katy Brent has perfectly created them to be so toxic.

Started this book at 1 a.m. during my exam weeks. Huge mistake! Couldn‘t put it down and actually spoiled myself as to who the stalker was to even go to sleep. Needless to say I basically finished the book in a day. The characters are not really loveable but oddly charming and the dark humour was right up my alley.

I‘m really glad Kitty doesn’t get caught

You know what - this actually wasn't bad at all lol. It did take some getting used to the whole absurdity of the situation, but once you embrace the fact that this posh influencer girlie goes around chopping up rapists and sex offenders like she's doing her laundry, it gets quite entertaining.

The writing is very fast paced, which allows for a quick and easygoing read, and as you move along the story, puzzle pieces about the protagonist's past fall into place and things just get decidedly more unhinged. It was a bit too over the top sometimes, though. Plus, most of the plot consists of how she finds and kills her victims, which only barely managed to avoid getting tedious. Some details were rushed, some a bit random, but all in all, it was good.

Anyway, I liked the story once I accepted it for what it was. It was refreshingly unhinged and VERY soothing for my vengeful little man-hater heart.

-monet arvosteluista jota oon lukenu kutsuu tätä ns "aivot narikkaan"-kirjallisuudeks, minkä suuri fani yleensä oon. Oon myös "feministinen kostofantasian" iso fani. Tää ei ollu kumpaakaan. 

-joka ikinen hahmo on raivostuttava, inhottava tai/ja ei yhtään sympatiaa herättävä. Ymmärrän kirjan lähtökohdan, ja sometähti sarjamurhaaja on tosi kiinostava idea, ja tää kirja ois voinu olla tosi ajatuksia herättävä raiskaus-kulttuurista. 

-Sen sijaan kirja onnistuu  esittämään ylimielisen ja mauttoman päähenkilön, traumalla mässäilevän tarinan ja ei-mihinkään menevän juonen. Hahmot ei käyny mitään muutosta läpi. Ei myöskään maailma. Tylsä tylsä ja tylsä, ja sitten välillä raivostuttava. 

-päähenkilön suhtautuminen muihin naisiin sekä omaan rahaansa ja ulkonäköönsä suorastaan välillä huutaa "pick-me"tä. 

-päähenkilön poikakaveri on karsee draamailija ja ovimatto naisia satuttaville miehille. 

-päähenkilön kaverit on kirjotettu ku aivoton kanalauma - mikä osaltaan auttaa kirjan "pick-me" energiaa. 

-se, mitä päähenkilö teki edelliselle poikaystävälleen on kuvottavaa, samoin se, miten hahmoa kuvaillaan (esim mielenterveysongelmat). En tiiä kuka voi olla päähenkilön puolella tän jälkeen, varsinkin, kun hahmo ei tunnu paljoa katuvan tekoaan. Joo, pettäkät on limasii ja surkeita, mut??????

-loppukäänne oli ihan uskomattoman surkee. Ilman spoilereita: miksi? Mikä oli hahmojen perimmäiset syyt toimintaansa? Thrillereissä ja dekkareissa mun lempi puuhaa on yrittää arvata käänteet - onnistuuko siinä lopulta ei niinkään merkitse, vaan se, että näkee kirjan asettamat vihjeet juonen varrelta. Tässä vika juonenkäänne tulee puskista, ja hahmojen syyt jätetään käden huitasulla syrjään. 

-voisin valittaa tästä loputtomiin, mut sensijaan suosittelen Oyinkan Braithwaiten
 Sisareni, sarjamurhaajaa, joka on juoneltaan ja kirjojoitustyyliltään purevampi ja taidokkaampi ja jonka hahmot ei saa mua repimään hiuksiani päästä.
