A really good translation, a fantastic introduction, and a very useful glossary and notes at the back.

I like how clear the translation is, and readable. It wasn't the set version, but I found it more useful for answering questions in class.

As for the philosophy itself...

After a semester of glaring at Ayn Rand, this was a refreshing breath of fresh air. I agree with most of what he says, and his rather colourful examples of people eating babies (he agrees that this is wrong) and so on were entertaining, although some (such as the argument that women aren't as rational as men, and no one is as awesome as the Greeks) are quite controversial today.

Clear arguments, well explained, and he makes some good points, although it seems like he realised he wasn't living a good life according to his definition and so did an about-face at the end.

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to find a cave to sit in, so I can think and learn and stuff. Because life is good. And it makes me happy.

This book was read while riding the subway and train in Paris. Last pages were read on the way to the ocean. Happiness is contemplating. The morning ocean couldn't agree more.

I'm not the hugest fan of Aristotle's philosophy, but this was still a very good read both to inform myself on general philosophy, and to get a grasp on how to present philosophical arguments (though, again, it's not the absolute best at presenting it). It definitely should be read by anyone interested in philosophy, but it's not the best philosophical text ever.
