I'm not part of the target audience for this.

I had fun with the game for a while, but the silliness just translate into something I want to read much of. Still, the art was good.

Try it if you want something really lighthearted, or you just can't get enough of Plants vs Zombies.

Cute, fun, quick little graphic novel. I loved the Plants vs. Zombies game (a little too much if you ask my family), and just LOVE zombies in general, so had to give this a try. Definitely has a juvenile audience appeal, but still a fun time.

Cute, but I expected the Potato Mines to emit their traditional "Spudow!" Purists may be a little disappointed, but overall it was a fun read.

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. The eBook images were not clear, and while I could see the artwork, this created a difficulty when reading the text. [return][return]Nate, Patrice, Crazy Dave, and some no nonsense plants try their best to rid their beloved town of some fearsome invaders. The invading zombies don t know what they are in for, however, when they try to take over Neighborville. The illustrations are lively, the text is humorous, and there are zombies. What more could a kid want? My bet is they will want the next installment of this series.

Fun Halloween themed story for Plants vs Zombies fans. I cannot recommend it unless you already like the franchise, but if you do there is some genuine humor.

It's okay. Amusing enough, and I really loved the story moments in all the games, but the comic is just ho hum. There's a lot of action. Nice art. I think the key issue for me is the games are fun for all ages, but the comic is really only fun for kids. I even enjoy Middlegrade books but for me this didn't hit my reading mood.

Okay first things first: The art? Amazing! I’m a huge fan of the game franchise and was super pumped to hear there was a graphic novel!

I do feel like there was a bit of a weird story lapse in trying to turn the game into a story though, and it didn’t feel cohesive for me.

It was super fun to see all of panels and action, but unsure of its merit as a graphic novel. Maybe it should have stuck to games?

This was zany fun. Nate and Patrice team up with the plants her Uncle Dave has been developing and protect the town of Neighborville from the zombies. There are tons of zombies, even some giant-size monsters, and they are under the command of the Zomboss. The kids and plants have Uncle Dave (a.k.a. Crazy Dave), the wind machine at the top of the family mansion, and a life-size fire-breathing TRex (if Dave has time to build it before the zombies overrun everything). My favorite quote from the story is when Nate says, "So, we're being chased by zombies and running toward an abandoned mansion?" Patrice replies, "Yeah. Doesn't sound very smart, does it?" And Nate tells her, "That's okay. I'm not very smart anyway!"

If you've ever played the game, or just enjoy funny stories with zombies, mutant plants, or mad scientists, then you'll have fun reading this one. And for those who do play the game, the creative team behind the story all have their own ideas for the best defense against zombies - just read the info about them at the end of the book.

I read an e-book provided by the publisher through NetGalley.

Could've been a fun children's comic if not for all the ableism.
